I have always been a competitor, into sports and overall staying active. I played soccer for many years and once that was done I dabbled in and out of gyms, go for a run once in a while and tried to eat what I thought was “healthy.” I was bored and not seeing the results I wanted. My wife wanted to try this new thing called CrossFit and did a 2 week on ramp and signed up. She would come home and tell me about all these crazy workouts with all these new lifts that I never even heard of! My interest was peaked and I started asking a lot of questions, but I wasn’t ready to give up my dumbbells and bench press. Then she told me that Courtney would do a special 2 week on ramp for me if I really wanted to give it a try. I knew Courtney from back in the day when her and my sister were on the same soccer team so I at least felt a connection the gym so I said ok! I realized day 1 I was not pushing myself as hard as I thought, my legs were on fire! I never had an honest “leg” day and the endurance was much more intense than the leisurely jogs on a treadmill I would do. Once I saw the whiteboard and noticed all the athletes names, times and weights, my competitive fire was relit and I was hooked. I have been at CrossFit One Shot now for 3 years and cannot wait to fully immerse myself in it by coaching it to all of you! 

I CrossFit because...

It gets me out of my comfort zone.  I know the best version of me is going to be doing the things I don’t want to do. If a WOD has movements I would normally never do on my own I get that extra push from the coaches and community to fight through it and come out of it feeling great! I can then take that uncomfortable feeling and mental grind I learn to overcome in CrossFit and translate that into everyday life.

I Coach because...

Fulfillment.  It gets me going knowing I have the platform to help people become the best versions of themselves.  I truly believe it does start with your physical health to cause a positive domino effect on everything in your life.
